C’est Moi – About Me – Quien Soy…

What can I say about myself? Well, first, a little explanation as to why my blog is called Latina of the World… I was born in El Salvador to Salvadorean parents, my grand parents were/are also salvadorean and my great grandparents were Chinese, Spanish and Salvadorean (some people think I’m persian by looking at me but I couldn’t really say if I have persian blood, at least no one in my family can corroborate that). The first two years of my life were spent between El Salvador and Costa Rica, moved to Mexico when I was 5, then to Canada (Winnipeg) when I was 9, then back to El Salvador when I was 15 and again to Canada (Vancouver) when I was 23, I moved to Winnipeg again 5 years ago and am not planning to live here all my life so will see where my travels take me. I actually don’t feel like I belong in any of the cities that I’ve lived in, maybe it’s because of all the moving, but I do feel my latin roots so… Latina of the World is what I am. :D

I am a lover of historical Eras up to the 1950’s and am quite nostalgic of the “good old days” where men were gentlemen and women were ladies even though I wasn’t born yet :) . I love dancing and just this year seriously started to take ballroom and salsa lessons, I think dancing is the language of the soul! I love to read, COOK, eat, travel, watch movies of all genres except horror (I’m quite the movie buff) and to learn and experience new things. I’m trying to teach myself to play the guitar and hope to learn Mandarin Chinese this year (or at least start to learn it). I speak fluent English and Español and am quite proficient in Francais.

I love a good conversation and a good adventure and think life is too short to live in fear, “Vivir con miedo es como vivir a medias”. I try to Carpe Diem whenever I can. Especially when it comes to food! Either in the kitchen or trying new restaurants.
