Birthday Thoughts… and Music

I turned one year older yesterday… do I feel wiser? Yes and No. It has been a very productive year in self development but there are other things that I feel I’m still stuck in. I guess I just have to be more patient. I know that change is on its way, I just need to let it come in its own time. My desire to travel has only gotten stroger while cooking international dishes so I’ll just concentrate on taking it one day at a time and planning my trip around the world.
I had a small celebration yesterday. My mom is visiting from El Salvador so that was the best present I could ever ask for, even though the weather was rainy all day I still felt happy just because she was here with me. I took the day off work and just hung out, we went to the only tea house here in Winnipeg for high tea. Then went apartment hunting (still looking… *sigh*) and came home to rest a bit and wait for my birthday dinner, went to “Right There!” Korean restaurant… here I’d like to mention how much I loved that restaurant and that Korean is my new favourite food! After that… and yes, it was a little crazy of me… I went to a 1.5 hr. salsa practice for the new dance group that I’ve joined and then ran home to a birthday get together with a whole bunch of friends and others crammed into my little apartment full of boxes (’cause I’m in the process of moving), it was a little overwhelming to have all of these people here but I was feeling good. Of course I had a little birthday mix all ready for such an occasion, I want to share my international birthday music mix, well… at least some of it, it was too long to share the whole thing.  

We really couldn’t do much dancing in my place but I did learn a couple of hip hop moves and some of these songs were excellent for that. It’s a very ecclectic mix, I just like what I like, what can I say.

And finished the evening with some mellow Bublé and Keith Urban. It was a very good birthday and know that this next year will be full of amazing experiences. I will be performing salsa finally and get cracking on my Mandarin and guitar lessons while I keep trying new dishes… here`s to another great year!
