This blog is a work in progress… please stay tuned for the new and improved look coming soon!

Ever since I was little I had an innate desire to travel. Before I knew how many countries there actually were in the world I kept saying that I was going to live 1 year in each country… Until my parents told me that there were over 100 countries to live in! So, unless I miraculously stumble upon the fountain of youth (or find the philosopher’s stone) that will never happen. Alas, another childhood dream down the toilet.

I’ve gone through life living in the complacency of routine and tediousness of adulthood, when my father died I felt like a piece of me died with him and all of my life plans and desires left with him. I just didn’t care about anything. Always feeling that there was an emptiness inside me that will never be filled. Shying away from possible friendships and not really looking to the future. I am a strong believer in Karma, Universal Energy, the Law of Attraction, etc. And, after going through my second leave of absence due to stress at work in 3 years I decided to do something about it. I went through a self transformation in October of last year and ever since I’ve felt that there is absolutely some purpose in my life. I haven’t found it but I know it’s there. I’ve considered some possibilities.

Now, I haven’t won the lottery, I am not a rocket scientist or a world renowned business woman, but I know what I’m passionate about: Health, Animals, Romance, Dance and Food. I am not an expert in either of those fields but I do know what I like. I have started a fitness regime again, started dance lessons, language courses and started to cook. But I wanted to have a record of what I’m doing this time around. Kind of having someone to be accountable to. In order to do that I wanted to start a blog. Nothing fancy, just a record of my life since my inner transformation. I love COMIDA! Food! And I love to travel, either to a nearby town or to a place thousands of miles away. Because of the economy I really can’t pick up and go to a different country on a whim (although I would love to… BELIEVE ME!) but I can definitely pick up a recipe book and a skillet and travel there with my taste buds. So, the idea for this venture came to be.

I want to travel the world one dish at a time. In alphabetical order so I don’t miss anything. :o ) I want to try it all, and I HAVE tried some delicious doozies (i.e. Boiled sea turtle eggs. Very good! But because sea turtles are protected wildlife now I am very much against eating them). So I will start with Austria, found a recipe for Paprika Soup. Will post my notes, any substitutions and any comments from my trusty Guinea Pigs. But please, if you have stopped by my blog and would like to make a recipe suggestion, please do so! There are only 26 letters in the alphabet and 52 weeks in the year (and I’m hoping to make more than one recipe a week sometimes time permitting). I can’t do this without help! :o ) I hope you will join me on this road to self-realization.

P.S. If you want the recipes that I’m trying here please email me or leave a post with your email. Due to copyright laws I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes (or get in trouble) so don’t want to post the full recipes for the whole world to see. Just in case. But would be more than happy to share them with you if you want to try them. :o )

Me encanta Silvy.
